Uttarakhand: Officers should discharge their responsibilities, strict action will be taken if negligence is found in Chardham Yatra – CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while reviewing the Char Dham Yatra through virtual medium from Uttarakhand Sadan, New Delhi on Friday, directed that all the departments should discharge their responsibilities with full devotion for the smooth conduct of the Char Dham Yatra with mutual coordination. If negligence is found at any level, direct action will be taken.

The Chief Minister directed to form a committee under the chairmanship of ACS Anand Bardhan for continuous monitoring of Chardham Yatra. The Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the officials that high officials of the government and IG level officers of the police should continuously remain in the field on the Yatra routes for better conduct of the Yatra. He said that if devotees reach the Dhams without registration, then accountability of the concerned officials will be fixed for this.

The Chief Minister said that all the devotees should get equal time for darshan in the temples. Along with this, priority should be given to senior citizens in registration and darshan arrangements. He instructed to release the trains going to Kedarnath and Badrinath from Rishikesh, Haridwar and other halting places at different times. He said that if necessary, the time period for darshan in temples should be increased in coordination with BKTC.

The Chief Minister said that all preparations for the Chardham Yatra regarding the upcoming monsoon season should be completed in time. Complete preparations should be made to deal with the problems faced during Chardham Yatra during the rainy season. He said that complete arrangements should be made for regular cleaning, drinking water and other basic facilities at the halting place fixed for the devotees. Additional police force should also be deployed as per requirement. He said that it is the collective responsibility of all of us to run the Yatra and it is our duty to serve the devotees.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Dilip Jawalkar, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, ADG Amit Sinha, A.P. Anshuman, IG K.S. Nagnyal, Additional Secretary Tourism Yugal Kishore Pant, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other officials of various districts were present.
