Tourists were following the route shown by Google Maps, car fell into the river, police issued warning

Google Maps is a popular map service worldwide. It is used to find the right path for yourself on unknown roads. What if the person showing you the way takes you on the ‘wrong path’. This has happened many times with Google Maps. A new case related to Google Maps has come to light from Kerala.
Actually, a group of tourists was finding their way through Google Maps, but this group got stuck in trouble. These people from Hyderabad fell into the river due to Google Maps in Kuruppantara, South Kerala. Police gave this information on Saturday.
How did the car fall into the river?
This incident happened late Friday night, when a group of four people, including a woman, was going towards Alappuzha. Since it was raining heavily in the area, the road on which they were traveling was filled with water. The tourists did not know much about that area.
So they were walking on the path shown by Google Maps. However, their car fell into the river. All four people in the car were rescued with the help of patrolling police and local people. In this accident, their car drowned in water. The police officer said that efforts are being made to take the car out.
Accidents have happened before too
This accident in Kerala is not the first case of its kind. Earlier also many people have become victims of accidents due to Google Maps. In October last year itself, two doctors died in a car accident. Both were traveling on the route shown by Google Maps and their car fell into a river.
In view of these cases, Kerala Police has issued a warning. The police has cautioned people about using technology during the monsoon season. If you also use Google Maps and are traveling on an unknown route, then you need to be careful.
