Uttarakhand: Dehradun Municipal Corporation will prepare a detailed report of the scam of Rs 60 crores, many councilors will be shocked before the municipal elections

The Municipal Corporation is now going to prepare a detailed report on the alleged scam of 60 crores in the Dehradun Municipal Corporation area. The special thing is that before the civic elections in the state, more than 20 councilors of Dehradun may get a shock in this matter. The case is related to embezzling lakhs of rupees in the name of sanitation workers.
The sanitation workers employed for cleaning in 100 wards of Dehradun Municipal Corporation have come under the purview of investigation. The matter has already been investigated at the Municipal Corporation level, while after this, the Dehradun Chief Development Officer has also given his report to the District Magistrate. The special thing is that in the investigation of the Municipal Corporation itself, it has been said that the verification of 99 sanitation workers could not be done. It is believed that there has been a scam of about 60 crores in this case. In view of this, now Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar has written a letter to Chief Municipal Health Officer Avneesh Khanna and directed to prepare a detailed investigation of the matter within three days.
The biggest problem now is for those councilors in whose area the verification of sanitation workers has not been done. In fact, it is being said that the dates for the civic elections in the state will be announced soon. Meanwhile, after the alleged irregularities came to light, a situation of doubt has arisen regarding the contesting of such councilors. In most of the 100 wards of Dehradun Municipal Corporation, apart from BJP or Congress, independent councilors have won. In such a situation, due to the matter of irregularities coming to light just before the elections, there may be trouble for these councilors. The responsibility of hiring sanitation workers was being carried out by the committees formed at the ward level. Apart from this, wages were also being given to these employees by them. The councilor has the most important role in this. That is why it is believed that if a detailed report comes out on this entire matter, then many councilors may get a big shock.
Dehradun Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar has given instructions to provide the ward-wise name and Aadhar card of 99 sanitation workers who were not found during verification. Apart from this, the name of the sanitation inspector and supervisor who certified the presence of these sanitation workers will also be written in the detailed report. The investigating officer will also have to give full details of the amount paid to the sanitation workers by December 2023. Apart from this, full details of to whom the Municipal Corporation paid the amount will also be given in this detailed report.
