PM Modi, who came to rally in Ghosi Lok Sabha seat of Mau, had said that the Indi alliance wants to give reservation in the name of religion. In many educational institutions, they gave reservation to Muslims in the name of religion and deprived Dalit, SC, ST, tribal people of reservation in those institutions. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has also given a statement on this issue.

CM Yogi said, “Reservation on the basis of religion is unconstitutional. Baba Saheb Ambedkar had opposed it in the Constituent Assembly of India. Despite everything, there is a race between the Congress and INDI alliance people to give reservation to Muslims. In 2006, by forming Justice Ranganath Mishra Committee, Congress tried to give it to Muslims by cutting the OBC part… When Congress was in power in Andhra Pradesh, they gave the OBC reservation there to Muslims. Congress’ Karnataka government has made a dent in the OBC reservation by including all the Muslim castes in OBC. In the 2012 and 2014 manifesto, SP advocated giving reservation to Muslims. BJP opposes any kind of Muslim reservation to safeguard SC, ST and OBC reservation.”
