Heat wave wreaks havoc in Bihar, 25 people died in four districts, an employee on election duty also died

The scorching heat and heat wave in Bihar have now become life-threatening. There are reports of deaths and people falling ill due to heat wave from different districts in the state. So far, more than 25 people have died due to heat wave in Aurangabad, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Ara, while many patients are admitted in different hospitals. The scorching heat and hot sun in the state have made life difficult for the people.

12 people died due to heat wave in Aurangabad

According to the information, 12 people have died due to heat wave in Aurangabad and 35 people are admitted in Sadar Hospital, who are undergoing treatment. Medical officer Abhishek Kumar said that about 200 patients came in the whole day after falling victim to the heat wave and were treated. The hospital deputy superintendent said that there is a terrible situation in the district regarding the rising temperature, but adequate facilities are available in the hospital for patients suffering from heat wave. He said that 5 patients came during treatment while 7 patients brought to the hospital dead. Thus the total number of deaths has reached 12.

Four people died in Nalanda

On the other hand, four people including a home guard jawan died due to heat stroke in Nalanda. While 23 people are being treated at Sadar Hospital in Bihar Sharif. One of the dead is a home guard jawan Ramesh Prasad. Ramesh was a resident of Siwan. On Thursday morning, 16 people reached Sadar Hospital after falling ill due to heat wave. People have brought table fans from their homes. The patients who are reaching are being bathed with cold water and ice is also being kept on the body. Let us tell you that in most of the districts of Bihar, the mercury is 44 degrees or more, due to which people are suffering.

6 people died due to heat in Jehanabad

Meanwhile, in Jehanabad also, half a dozen people who came to get treatment at Sadar Hospital on Thursday died due to severe heat and heat stroke. However, the reasons for death could not be ascertained clearly. But the family members say that due to the scorching sun and heat, their health suddenly deteriorated, due to which they died. The deceased include Om Prakash Gupta of Makhdumpur, Arun Kumar of Nadoul, Dularchand Manjhi of Palya village, Ramnivas Sharma of Mokar, Shyam Sundar of Chaita village and Devendra Sharma of Jharkha village.

Meanwhile, DM Alankrita Pandey said that information about how many people have died so far has not been received. But all the doctors and medical personnel have been put on alert mode regarding the heat wave in various hospitals including Sadar Hospital. The number of patients in government and private hospitals here is continuously increasing.

Three died due to heat stroke in Ara

Ara district is also experiencing severe heat. Three people have lost their lives due to heat stroke. Among these three people, one was a Home Guard jawan who was on election duty. At the same time, a returning officer also died in Jagdishpur during duty. However, a different scary scene is being seen in RK Sadar Hospital due to heat wave. There is no ward where heat wave patients are not seen.

The district administration has warned the Sadar Hospital to remain on full alert and has deployed a large number of doctors in all PHCs including RK Sadar Hospital so that if anyone comes under the grip of heat wave, he can be treated immediately.

What was the temperature recorded where

Due to the scorching sun, incidents of government school teachers fainting have been reported from many areas including Sheikhpura, Begusarai, Muzaffarpur and East Champaran. The Meteorological Department said that severe heat will continue in many parts of Bihar in the coming days. Other places in the state where temperatures were recorded above 44 degrees Celsius include Aurangabad (46.1 degrees Celsius), Dehri (46 degrees Celsius), Gaya (45.2 degrees Celsius), Arwal (44.8 degrees Celsius) and Bhojpur (44.1 degrees Celsius). The maximum temperature recorded today in Bihar’s capital Patna was 40.7 degrees Celsius.
