Regarding defeat in five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand, Mahra said that he believes that big faces could be given tickets as a better candidate in the state. If the Congress had given tickets to Yashpal Arya, Harish Rawat and Pritam Singh, he is confident that the Congress would have won these three seats. Not only this, the Congress candidate would have benefited from the landing of these faces even on the Garhwal Lok Sabha seat.
Karan Mahra said that in Uttarakhand, Congress contested on very serious issues like Ankita Bhandari murder, unemployment. But the BJP adopted the path of appeasement of Hindu-Muslim. In such a situation, educated intellectuals have supported the Congress.
