Uttarakhand: Ration card holders will now get iodised salt along with wheat and rice, CM Dhami will launch the scheme soon

The government has started many schemes for ration card holders in Uttarakhand, one of which is the Free Food Scheme. Now in the scheme, ration card holders will be given one kg of salt along with rice and wheat. Soon Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will launch this scheme.

Under this scheme, ration card holders will be given iodized salt at very low prices. Giving more information about this scheme, departmental minister Rekha Arya said that the Food Department is working as a lifesaver for poor ration card holders, under which high quality wheat and rice are being given to the card holders. At the same time, now the Food Department will also give iodized salt along with fortified rice.

Minister Rekha Arya said that under this scheme, one kg of iodized salt will be given every month to Antyodaya and primary families at cheap prices. Iodized salt will prove to be helpful in fighting malnutrition in poor families. A government order has been issued to provide iodized salt to ration card holders, so soon this scheme will be launched by taking time from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Let us tell you that the Uttarakhand government had taken the initiative of giving one kg of iodized salt to ration card holders last year, after which an order has also been issued in this regard on 22 May 2024. But due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, this scheme could not be started.
