Uttarakhand: Will BJP bet on Rajendra Bhandari, who came from Congress, from Badrinath assembly seat? Who will contest from Mangalore…

The Lok Sabha elections have just ended and now the schedule for by-elections on two assembly seats of the state has been announced. Of these two vacant seats, one was won by Congress and the other by BSP in the 2022 assembly elections. In such a situation, along with BJP and Congress, BSP will also contest for the by-election. However, BJP is claiming that it will win the by-elections on both the seats. The by-election on this seat came to an end due to the joining of Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari, elected from Badrinath assembly seat of Chamoli district, in the BJP. On the other hand, Mangalore seat of Haridwar district fell vacant due to the death of BSP MLA Sarbat Karim Ansari. As far as the Badrinath seat is concerned, BJP and Congress will face each other in the by-election here.
It is believed in political circles that BJP will bet on MLA Rajendra Bhandari, who came to BJP from Congress. If this happens, the contest is likely to be interesting. Along with BJP and Congress, BSP is also sure to contest on the Mangalore seat.
BSP has always performed better on this seat. In such a situation, BSP will not want to leave any stone unturned to win this seat. Although the national leadership will select the BSP candidate, but the workers of the state are in favor of fielding a relative of late Sarbat Karim Ansari on this seat.
The reason behind this is that BSP workers believe that this can create a sympathy wave in their favor and BSP can retain this seat again. On the other hand, BJP has started election preparations on both the seats.
BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt claimed that the party will continue the continuous winning streak in the state. The number of BJP members in the House is going to increase from 47 to 49. He said that the party has already appointed assembly in-charges for both the vacant seats.
Soon meetings will be started with the workers at the booth level in these assemblies regarding the election strategy. Taking forward the process of candidate selection, a team of observers will be sent to the area, which will prepare a panel of possible names after taking opinion from the local workers and on the basis of regional and social equations.
