Jewellery worth Rs 300 sold to a foreign woman for Rs 6 crore; did gold polish on silver, called stone a diamond

A case of fraud of Rs 6 crore from a foreign woman has come to light in Jaipur. An American woman was cheated by selling fake jewellery worth Rs 6 crore in a jewellery shop here. The father-son jeweller also gave a fake certificate by claiming that a silver chain with gold polish and a Mozonite stone worth Rs 300 was a diamond worth lakhs of rupees. On the complaint of the woman, Jaipur Police has registered a case and arrested the accused who issued the fake certificate. Along with this, investigation has also been started with the help of the US Embassy. The accused shopkeeper and his son are absconding since the incident.

According to the information, the name of the American woman who was cheated is Cherish. In the complaint, the foreign woman told that she had made a purchase from a shop located in Johri Bazaar of Manak Chowk police station area of Jaipur. The woman told that after buying the jewellery, she returned to America. When an exhibition was organized there in April, she showed the jewellery bought there. It was found out from there that these were fake.
The victim woman Cherish immediately returned to Jaipur after this. When she complained about this to the shop owner Rajendra Soni and his son Gaurav, they denied that the jewellery was fake. They did not listen to the woman. The troubled foreign woman Cherish then filed a complaint against the shop owners at the Manak Chowk police station on May 18. The shop owners also filed a case against Cherish.
