A woman had gone to cut grass in Gangra Baste of Pithoragarh. During this time, she slipped and fell into the ditch and died a painful death in the accident. The woman’s death has caused an uproar among the family members.

Woman who went to cut grass dies after falling into ditch

A painful accident happened in Pithoragarh on Tuesday. A woman Lalita Devi (32) wife of Balveer Singh Negi had gone to the forest to cut grass in Gangra Baste. During this time, her foot slipped and she fell into a 200 meter deep ditch. Due to which the woman died on the spot.

Woman’s body taken out of the ditch

Other women who had gone to cut grass with the woman informed the villagers about this. After which the villagers took the body out of the ditch and took it to the district hospital. Where after conducting the post-mortem of the body, it has been handed over to the family members. It is being told that the woman’s husband Balveer Singh Negi has been informed about the accident.

Family members are crying inconsolably

It is being told that the woman’s husband works in a private job in a hotel in Bhimtal. The woman has three small children. Lalita has left behind a seven year old daughter, a five year old daughter and a three year old son. After the woman’s death, the three children and the woman’s mother-in-law Kalavati Devi are crying inconsolably. The villagers say that the financial condition of the family is not good. They have appealed for compensation to the family.
