Uttarakhand by-election: Godiyal can also be a trump card from Badrinath seat, brainstorming on many names to decide the candidate

Congress, which lost the Garhwal parliamentary seat, wants to settle the score in the Badrinath assembly by-election. Therefore, Ganesh Godiyal is being considered as the trump card among the names being shuffled within the party to find a winning candidate in the by-election.
Of course, Godiyal has denied the possibility of contesting the by-election, but a large section within the party is supporting Godiyal’s candidature in the Badrinath electoral battle. Congress has not yet opened its cards for the by-election on Mangalore and Badrinath seats.
But former MLA and Congress national secretary Qazi Nizamuddin has a strong claim on the Mangalore seat. While brainstorming is going on on the names of many contenders for the Badrinath seat. The state Congress committee has received the names of many contenders from the district Congress committee. Only three of these names will be sent to the party high command in the panel.
According to party sources, former state president and candidate from Garhwal seat Ganesh Godiyal can also be the trump card for the Badrinath seat. Godiyal fought the Lok Sabha elections on his own. His election campaign was widely discussed in political circles. Due to which it is believed that the high command may bet on Godiyal. However, Godiyal refused to contest the elections and said that local leaders of Chamoli district should be given a chance.
