Uttarakhand: Chief Minister inaugurated the irrigation scheme in Kaluwala, farmers got a big gift in the Jal Utsav program

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the irrigation scheme at Kaluwala in the Jal Utsav program under Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan – 2024. Earlier, he paid obeisance at the famous Siddha Peeth Kalu Siddha Temple.

In this irrigation scheme completed in Kaluwala, the construction of the head of Kaluwala-Jolly Grant irrigation canal on the Song river and the repair work of the canal have been done at a cost of about Rs 3.80 crore. After the construction of this head, about 1800 bighas of agricultural land of various villages will be able to get plenty of water for irrigation for 12 months.

Earlier, due to the lack of a permanent head, temporary arrangements had to be made here every year. Which used to get washed away in the strong flow of the river during the rainy season. Due to which the river bed used to be lower than the canal in the rainy season, due to which water hardly reached the fields in summer.

But now after a permanent solution is found, hundreds of farmers will get direct benefit from this and their crops will get sufficient water from the Song river for irrigation of the fields. While inaugurating this scheme, the Chief Minister has given a gift to the farmers.
