A massive fire broke out in the house of former Roorkee Municipality Chairman Rakesh Garg in BT Ganj, Roorkee, in the afternoon. Seeing the flames of fire, there was an atmosphere of panic on the spot. On receiving the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot.

The fire brigade team, which reached the spot on receiving the information, took out the women safely from inside the house and after a lot of hard work, controlled the fire. During this, a huge crowd of people from the surrounding area also gathered at the spot.

Due to the fire, goods worth lakhs including two vehicles have been burnt to ashes. Giving information about the matter, CO Roorkee Narendra Pant said that the people living in the house were safely evacuated. There is no loss of life or property in the accident. At present, prima facie, the cause of the fire is being told to be a short circuit.
