Uttarakhand: CBI investigation in the Horticulture Department found a scam of more than eight crores, a big game was played in giving subsidy

A scam of more than eight crore rupees has been found in the purchase and sale of fruit plants in the Horticulture Department. This amount has been transferred from one place to another in the form of subsidy by arbitrarily increasing the rates of plants. Not only this, a new account was opened for one nursery on another PAN card and suddenly about one and a quarter crore rupees were deposited in it. In the CBI investigation, the mastermind of this entire scam is said to be former director Baveja and his acquaintance who runs a nursery. CBI has now started investigation in all three cases. On this basis, arrest of some officers and employees is also possible in the coming time.

Let us tell you that this big scam of the state was exposed due to the struggle of a social worker. SIT was also formed at the local level in the case but on the order of the High Court, its investigation was handed over to the CBI. CBI conducted preliminary investigation in this for about eight months and two days ago registered cases against 15 named officers, employees and nursery operators including former director HS Baveja. According to official sources of CBI, the entire matter is of a scam of about eight crore rupees. This scam has been carried out in many ways. In this, the actual rates of the plants were increased in an arbitrary manner. After this, the subsidy was paid accordingly. An order of lakhs of plants was given to each nursery.

In this way, the nursery which was supposed to be paid only Rs 50 lakh was paid Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.25 crore as per the new rates. Not only this, the low quality plants whose rates were fixed by the department itself at Rs 150. They were arbitrarily purchased at the rate of Rs 465 per plant. In this way, three times more payment was made to Barkat Agro Farm Nursery of Jammu and Kashmir. It is being told that this money was distributed among the officials. Not only this, the then CHO Nainital RK Singh played another game in connivance with Farooq Ahmed Dar and Sajad Ahmed. They made fake receipts for apple plants and Rs 1.71 crore was transferred to the nursery.

RK Singh himself took 43 lakhs in cash and 17 lakhs in his son’s account

Out of this money, 17 lakh rupees were transferred to RK Singh’s son Sunil Singh’s Axis Bank account in Bajpur for the purchase of 73 thousand plants. Investigation revealed that Nainital’s CHO RK Singh not only took money in his son’s account. At the same time, he also received Rs 43 lakh in cash from Farooq Dar. This amount was given to Singh on different dates. According to sources, a large part of this amount was also received by former director HS Baveja.

CBI is preparing a joint report

CBI had questioned all the accused on Thursday. Apart from this, searches were also conducted at the hideouts of all these people. During this, everyone’s bank accounts and lockers etc. were also investigated. All the teams have now returned to Uttarakhand from other states as well. In such a situation, now CBI is preparing a joint report. It is being told that a large number of documents have been recovered from the accused. Soon more big action can be taken in this case.
