Uttar Pradesh: Arun Govil is a BJP MP from Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha, yet there is a demand for re-election
The people and businessmen of Meerut Cantt are angry with their newly elected MP Arun Govil. Many businessmen of Cantt said that Arun Govil had lost from four assembly constituencies but won due to the votes of Cantt, yet he did not come to the area even once to say thank you. The businessmen said that the people of Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha will now suffer such an MP for five years.
After winning the Lok Sabha elections in India, almost all the MPs went to their respective parliamentary constituencies to thank the people. But Arun Govil, the MP elected from Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha seat, did not go to his parliamentary constituency even once to thank the people after his victory. A lot of anger has been seen among the business community regarding this matter.
Angry businessmen and public said this
Businessman Ankit Goyal said, we had said earlier also that the outsider candidate will be useful only for a face-to-face meeting. Now we will keep yearning for a face-to-face meeting for the entire five years. Businessman Ankit also said that Arun Govil lost from all the assembly constituencies but the people of Cantt made him win by 1 lakh 61 thousand votes. Even after that, Arun Govil did not come among the people of Cantt, let alone thank them through newspapers and channels. Our demand from the government is that he should be called back and Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha elections should be held again.
Mukesh Agarwal, President of Sadar Dal Mandi and Edible Oil Traders Association, says that after the victory, all the MPs came to their areas to thank the people. But neither Arun Govil nor anyone from the BJP office thanked them. On the other hand, Anil Jain, President of Bullion Traders Traders Association, said that if everyone lost from Vidhan Sabha and won from Cantt Vidhan Sabha, then it is our right that they should have come to thank.
Trader Sachin said that when the people are already upset after the victory, there are still five years left. Business leader and RSS member Vivek Gaur said, we not only accepted the outsider candidate, but also welcomed him by calling him and spending lakhs of rupees.
