Uttarakhand: One worker died during the construction of tunnel of Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line, case registered against seven

A worker died due to a rock falling in the tunnel of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project. The family members of the deceased worker have accused Navayuga Company, which is constructing the tunnel, of negligence. On the complaint of the family members of the deceased, a case has been registered against seven officials including the contractor of the company.
An employee died during tunnel construction
The deceased worker has been identified as Kamlesh Pant (29) son of Ramesh Chandra. The deceased’s brother Ved Prakash, resident of Chamoli, has given a complaint regarding the matter. Ved Prakash told that on June 10, his cousin Kamlesh was negligently sent directly inside the face of the tunnel by the company’s site engineer, safety officer and other officials, where three employees were injured due to rock breaking.
Case registered against seven officials
Kamlesh died on June 13 during treatment. Apart from this, the condition of Imran resident Saharanpur and Pramukh Kanwar resident Jharkhand remains critical. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against seven officials working in the company in their respective houses and started investigation.
