A bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 12 crores submerged in the river before inauguration in Araria

Another under-construction bridge in Araria district of Bihar has sunk into the river. Many local leaders had made a lot of efforts to get this bridge built. But while it was being built, all the hopes of the people were washed away with this bridge. This bridge was being built to connect Sikati block and Kursakata. This bridge was being built on the Bakra river of the area. It is alleged that many types of negligence have been done in building the bridge.

The construction of this bridge connecting Sikati block and Kursakata of the district was almost complete. It is going to be inaugurated soon. A few days ago, local MLA Vijay Kumar Mandal had inspected it and the executive engineer had told the local MLA about the entire work. During this, the MLA had said that anti-erosion work would have to be done around the bridge and the river. But, even after the discussion, no work was done.

Cost of 12 crores

Local MLA Vijay Kumar Mandal and MP Pradeep Kumar Singh had worked hard to get this bridge built. This bridge was being constructed at a cost of 12 crores. The bridge was almost ready. The local people were very happy with the construction of this bridge because their daily movement problem was about to end. But, before that the bridge collapsed. It was fortunate that the bridge collapsed before its inauguration, if movement had started on it, a bigger accident could have happened.
