Government took a big step to stop illegal mining in Uttarakhand, now monitoring will be done like this
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi today attended the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) meeting of the Mining Department at the Secretariat. During this, she approved a proposal of about Rs 93 crore to install MDTSS (Mining Digital Transformation and Surveillance System) at 40 check gates in Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar to strictly monitor illegal mining in the state and increase revenue from legal mining.
MSCC will be established in Dehradun
Under MDTSS, state-of-the-art technology like ANPR camera, bullet camera, RFID radar, LED flood light will be used to strictly monitor mining activities. Along with this, Mining State Control Center (MSCC) will be established in Dehradun. Along with this, mini command centers will be established in the district headquarters of Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar.
The Chief Secretary said that through MDTSS, continuous monitoring will be ensured on illegal and unauthorized transportation of minerals, excessive mining or extraction of minerals, overloading of vehicles carrying minerals, delivery against the delivery location given in the transit pass, illegal mining and loss of revenue due to other reasons.
Instructions given to make a plan for health
The Chief Secretary has given instructions to take the cooperation of all the stakeholders related to mining and make them aware by effectively coordinating with them in this regard. The CS has also given instructions to make an action plan for the welfare and development of the workers working in the mining areas and to provide good education and health facilities to their children.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has also given instructions to make an action plan for the development and welfare of the laborers working in brick kilns in the state. She has given instructions to ensure medical and insurance facilities for the laborers working in mining areas and brick kilns.
