While the pre-monsoon rains have given relief to people from the heat, now the rains can trouble people in the coming days. A heavy rain alert has been issued in the state for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in various districts of Uttarakhand from June 24 to 30.
Chances of heavy rains till June 30
The weather will remain bad in the state for the next few days. According to the Director General of the Meteorological Department, Bikram Singh, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in most of the districts of the state on June 27, 28 and 30 next week. An orange alert has been issued for this. Along with this, there is also a possibility of landslides on the mountains. Roads may be blocked due to landslides.
Heavy rain warning in four districts of Kumaon
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in four districts of Kumaon division in the coming days. Orange alert for rain has been issued in Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. There are chances of lightning along with rain. There is also a possibility of damage to kutcha houses due to this.
Chardham pilgrims should be cautious
After the alert of heavy to very heavy rains was issued in the state, pilgrims going on Chardham Yatra have been advised to be cautious. Due to rain, people may face problems due to rising water level in rivers and waterlogging in roads etc. Along with this, there is also a possibility of mild landslides and falling of stones in sensitive areas.
