Uttarakhand: Dhami government strict on indiscipline, action taken against six including five principals of government colleges

The government has taken action against six including five principals of government colleges on charges of indiscipline. Two principals of colleges have been punished and given censure entry and transferred on administrative grounds. The department informed that the principals who get censure entry will not be able to get promotion for the next three years.

In relation to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, the government had held a meeting through video conference on various dates from April 2 to 16, 2024, but the college principals remained absent from the meeting without any information. According to the order issued by Higher Education Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Principal of Government College Chudiala Haridwar, Dr. K S Johri was absent from the meeting held on 16 April 2024 without any information.

The government had sought his reply on this. In his reply, he told that he was given the responsibility of Zonal Magistrate in the election. He was busy in election related meetings and preparations. The date of the video conference was changed. This was the reason why he could not take cognizance of the meeting. When he came to know about the meeting, he tried to join the meeting, but due to network problem, he could not participate in the meeting. The government has punished him by calling it indiscipline and has given him a censure entry. The department has informed that he has also been transferred on administrative grounds.

Apart from this, the Principal in-charge of Government College Khirsu, Dr. DS Chauhan has also been given a censure entry and transferred on administrative grounds. At the same time, Principal of Mahavidyalaya Bhikiyasain, Dr. Prem Prakash, NAAC Nodal Officer of Khirsu College, Dr. Devendra Kumar have been given censure entries. While a strict warning has been issued to Principal of MB Government PG College Haldwani, Dr. NS Bankoti and Principal of Mahavidyalaya Bhupatwala Haridwar, Dr. Dinesh Shukla.

At the same time, Principal of Bhikiyasain Mahavidyalaya Dr. Prem Prakash, NAAC Nodal Officer of Khirsu Mahavidyalaya Dr. Devendra Kumar have been given a censure entry. While a strict warning has been issued to Dr. NS Bankoti, Principal of MB Government PG College Haldwani and Dr. Dinesh Shukla, Principal of Bhupatwala Mahavidyalaya Haridwar.
