Uttarakhand: Four employees including the checkpost in-charge suspended in Rudraprayag accident case, Transport Department took action on CM’s order

The Transport Headquarters has suspended four transport employees including the Tapovan checkpost in-charge for negligence in checking in the tempo traveler accident that took place on June 15 at Rantoli near Rudraprayag. Charge sheets have been given to two transport tax officers. Two PRD jawans have been returned to their department. A letter has been sent to the Police Headquarters for action against the policemen.
15 people lost their lives in the accident. The Chief Minister had given instructions to take strict action against the negligent officers. The RTO Pauri had investigated the accident and sent the report to the Transport Headquarters two days ago. The SDM had also conducted a magisterial inquiry into the matter.
Under the instructions of CM Dhami, Joint Transport Commissioner Sanat Kumar Singh has suspended the Principal Assistant Checkpost In-charge Yashveer Singh Bisht, Office Assistant Vivek Uniyal, Transport Sub Inspector Mehtab Ali and Transport Constable Amar Saini posted at the checkpost at Tapovan, finding them guilty prima facie. While two PRD jawans have been returned to their original department.
He also considered the mobile teams of the Transport Department deployed on the route to be negligent in checking and issued chargesheet to mobile team in-charge Transport Tax Officer Varuna Saini and Jagdish Chandra. He has also sent a letter to the DGP for disciplinary action against the policemen.
