Uttarakhand: After Dehradun, now protest against tree cutting in Haldwani, Congress submits memorandum to SDM
After the information of cutting of many big trees in the road widening from Nariman Square to Kathgodam Railway Station in Haldwani, Congress workers reached SDM court on Wednesday. Where they submitted a memorandum to the City Magistrate in protest against tree cutting.
Controversy over tree cutting in Haldwani
After Dehradun, now the administration is facing opposition in Haldwani regarding tree cutting. Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to the SDM on Tuesday. Congress leader Lalit Joshi said that trees should not be cut for road widening. The administration should also find another option for road widening.
Trees will be shifted to another place: SDM
City Magistrate AP Bajpai said that the district administration is very sensitive about the trees that are coming in the road widening. All the trees that are coming around the road widening will not be cut but will be shifted to another place, in relation to which the expert has also reached the spot and inspected and investigated, so that the environment can also be taken care of.

Let us tell you that earlier trees were to be cut from Dilaram Chowk to the Chief Minister’s residence for road widening. Seeing the growing anger of the people, the Dhami government had come on the back foot.
