Uttarakhand: A leopard killed a seven year old innocent child, his body was found in the forest hours later

Late on Wednesday night, a leopard devoured a seven-year-old innocent child in Haldwani Vanprabhag Range. The body of the child was found in the forest early this morning after hours of search.
Leopard preys on a seven-year-old innocent
A leopard devoured a seven-year-old child living near the railway track near Nirmala Convent in Haldwani Vanprabhag Range. According to the information received, the child had come out of the house with his grandmother. During this time, the leopard, which was already waiting in ambush, attacked the child and took him away.
Child’s body found near the forest early in the morning
The relatives and local people informed the forest department and administration about this. The child was searched till late night but nothing could be found about him. Early this morning, the body of the child was found near the forest. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
A cage will be set up to catch the leopard
After the incident, SDM Haldwani Paritosh Verma and Tehsildar Sachin Kumar went to the child’s house and met the family. They have instructed the forest department to give proper compensation to the family. At present, the forest department will now set up a cage to catch the leopard and patrolling will also be done in the surrounding area.
