Let us tell you that from January 1 to May 31, 660 cases of crimes against women have been registered in the entire Kumaon.
Most crimes against women are happening in US Nagar in Kumaon
Most crimes against women in Kumaon division are happening in Udham Singh Nagar district. Udham Singh Nagar Police has registered the highest number of cases of kidnapping, rape, murder, outraging modesty (forced physical relations), dowry harassment, sexual crimes in the last five months. A total of 374 cases of crime against women have been reported in Udham Singh Nagar district between January 1, 2024 and May 31, 2024.
Nainital second in crime against women
While Udham Singh Nagar is at the first place in Kumaon in the case of crime against women, Nainital is at the second place. Between January 1, 2024 and May 31, 2024, 149 cases of crime against women have been reported in Nainital district. Along with this, one case in Nainital and four in Udham Singh Nagar have been registered in five months under cyber sexual crime and Muslim Women Marriage Rights Protection Act from these two districts.
Cases of crime against women increasing in the hilly district Pithoragarh

In the last five months, 32 cases of crime against women have been reported from Almora and 14 cases from Bageshwar. In the last five months, police in Champawat registered 40 cases of crime against women. While the maximum number of cases have been reported from Pithoragarh district. Pithoragarh police has registered 51 cases.
