The issue of paper leak will resonate in Parliament today

At the same time, let us tell you that the thanks motion will be at the center of the discussion, but the opposition will raise its voice demanding a discussion on NEET paper leak. The government has already sensed the intention of the opposition, so Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has made preparations to answer any discussion on NEET paper leak. In the first session of Parliament, the government does not want to show itself on the backfoot in any way, so with the beginning of the session, the Modi government is playing on the front foot on NEET paper leak. The President himself has taken the lead by mentioning strict action against paper leak in his address.

Action in NEET paper leak… Government on front foot

On June 4, when the country was busy with the results of the Lok Sabha elections, NTA surprised everyone by releasing the NEET result and when the matter of rigging came to light, the opposition got the issue in its hands. But as soon as it took oath for the third time, the Modi government came into action regarding it.

The government-

  • Removed NTA DG Subodh Kumar Singh and made Pradeep Singh Kharola the new DG.
  • The investigation of all the cases related to paper leak across the country was handed over to the CBI.
  • UGC-NET examination was cancelled.
  • NEET-PG exam was postponed.

As soon as Dharmendra Pradhan took oath, anti-paper leak law was implemented

The government also took many big decisions immediately at the policy level. As soon as Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took oath, the anti-paper leak law was implemented. This law was passed in February this year.

According to the Public Examination Act-2024-

  • The culprits of paper leak can be punished with up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to 1 crore.
  • Cheating can lead to a punishment of up to 3 years and a fine of up to 10 lakhs.
  • If the teaching/coaching institute is accused, then its manager/teacher can be jailed for 5 to 10 years.

As soon as the evidence of NEET paper leak came to light, the opposition has become aggressive. The government started taking action at twice the speed. The way the Education Minister was hooting while taking oath in Parliament, it became clear that the opposition was going to surround the government, so the government made full preparations.
