Maharashtra / Gondia: Dispute over cooking food turned into murder

A man brutally murdered his fellow laborer in village Anjora of Amgaon tehsil of Gondia district. Police has arrested the accused while confiscating the weapon used in the murder. According to information received from police sources, the reason for the murder is said to be a dispute over cooking food. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Sher Singh Mangal Singh Uike. The deceased is a resident of Vaigatola tehsil Lamta, district Balaghat. At the same time, the accused has been identified as 31-year-old Badal alias Ramcharan Ram Prasad Uike, resident of Vaigatola, tehsil Lamta, district Balaghat.

There was a dispute between the two laborers over cooking food

Both the laborers worked under the supervision of the contractor of Girdhar Trading Company. The contractor’s ‘bamboo depot’ is located in the field of Bharat Gokul Marskolhe in village Anjora, a labor quarter is also built in the same field. Where both the laborers lived together. The incident took place on 26 June at 9:00 pm. When the accused labourer named Badal returned from his work to the quarter, he saw that no preparations for making biryani had started yet. On this, he got into a fight with his fellow labourer inside the kitchen. Badal reminded his fellow labourer that “Today it is not my turn to cook, it is yours.” Hearing this, the other labourer Sher Singh refused to cook. Badal got so angry at his fellow labourer’s refusal to cook that in anger he picked up a tool used in labour, ‘Tikas’, and hit Sher Singh on his chest and head. Due to which Sher Singh died.

Police arrested the accused

On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and after preparing the Panchnama of the dead body, sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem. The accused has confessed to the murder. On the complaint of the complainant Mahesh Kumar Bhagchand Lilhare, resident of Hanuman Chowk, Tehsil Miriya, District Balaghat, a case under Section 302 has been registered against the accused Badal alias Ramcharan Uike and he has been arrested. The police is engaged in further investigation in the case.
