Tata Institute of Social Science Company suddenly fired 155 employees

Tata Institute of Social Science has suddenly given a big shock to its employees. In fact, the company has fired a total of 155 employees from its 4 campuses on Friday. This includes 55 teaching faculty staff while 60 are non-teaching faculty staff. It is being told that TISS has dismissed the employees without any notice.

Why were the employees dismissed?

According to the information received, TISS has dismissed the maximum number of employees from the campus. Half of the teaching staff and all the non-teaching staff of the Guwahati campus have been dismissed. The dismissed employees include those who were working for more than a decade and all of them were on contract. The reason for the employees being fired without any notice is said to be non-receipt of grant from Tata Education Trust due to which the employees are not getting salary.

How many staff were sacked

Let us tell you that in the 4 campuses where TISS has done layoffs, 20 teaching staff have been sacked from Mumbai Campus, 15 from Hyderabad, 14 from Guwahati Campus and 6 from Tuljapur Campus. Tata Institute of Social Sciences has done large scale layoffs of teaching and non-teaching staff on 28th June. The very next day, the Institute had issued an advertisement for the recruitment of Associate Professor on contract in the School of Habitat Studies.
