There will be torrential rains in these states for the next few days, Meteorological Department gave the update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted torrential rains in northwest and northeast India for the next 4 to 5 days. The Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the low pressure area is currently located over the northwest Bay of Bengal, close to the north Odisha-West Bengal coasts. Meanwhile, a part of the roof collapsed at Rajkot Hirasar International Airport during heavy rains in Gujarat after Delhi.

The Meteorological Department has said that cyclonic circulation has formed at the lower troposphere level over northeast Rajasthan, Bihar, east, northwest of Uttar Pradesh. A system of low pressure area has formed from the northwest part of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that due to these weather systems, heavy rains are expected in isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan from June 29 to July 3. Heavy rains are expected in Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha on June 30 and in Bihar from June 30 to July 2.

Chances of heavy rains in states

The Meteorological Department has also predicted very heavy rains in isolated areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during this period. A cyclonic circulation over northeastern Assam in the northeast will bring light to moderate rainfall, thundershowers, lightning and heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places over West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the next 5 days.

What is the monsoon situation?

Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh on June 30 and in some places over Assam and Meghalaya on June 29. The Meteorological Department also said that the southwest monsoon has advanced into the rest of eastern Uttar Pradesh and some areas of western Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The IMD said conditions are favourable for further advance of monsoon into western Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, most parts of Punjab and remaining parts of western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu during the next two to three days.
