Shia Personal Law Board wrote a letter to PM Modi, said this about Muharram

Shia Personal Law Board has written a letter to PM Modi regarding Muharram starting from July 8. The board has demanded from the Prime Minister to strengthen the security arrangements in the procession. Along with this, there has been a demand to repair the electricity wires on the route of Tazia. The board has also mentioned the problems faced during Muharram in the letter. An appeal has been made for better arrangements on the route of the procession and security arrangements have been made for the Nauha Khwani and Majlises going on all night.

Last year, while taking out a Muharram procession in Nangloi in West Delhi, a group of people clashed with the police, after which people pelted stones at the police. 12 people were injured and many vehicles were damaged in this incident. In Nangloi, people started a ruckus after being stopped from changing the route fixed for the procession, after which they clashed with the police. He had said that the police had lathicharged to disperse the unruly crowd.

Ban on open sale of meat in UP

In order to avoid tension during Kanwar Yatra and Muharram in UP, the sale of open meat has been banned on the routes through which the Kanwar Yatra will pass. The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday decided to ban the sale and purchase of meat in the open on the route of Kanwar Yatra during the month of Shravan starting from July 22. In view of the festivals, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations related to law and order and successful organization of these festivals and gave necessary guidelines to the officials.

Guidelines regarding DJ

According to the statement, the Chief Minister directed to deal strictly with mischievous and unruly elements and also monitor the Kanwar Yatra with drones. According to a spokesperson of the state government, the Chief Minister reviewed the preparations being made regarding law and order and successful organization of important programs by holding a meeting with the Police Commissioners, Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police in view of the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, Muharram and other festivals. The Chief Minister said, “Kanwar Yatra is an event of faith. Traditionally, dance, song, music have been a part of it. It should be ensured that the sound of DJ, song-music etc. is in accordance with the prescribed standards. The height of the DJ should not exceed a certain limit.”

Monitoring will be done through drones

He also directed that respecting the faith of the devotees, there should be no open purchase and sale of meat etc. anywhere on the Kanwar Yatra route. Cleanliness should be maintained on the Yatra route. While giving instructions to keep an eye on mischievous elements, Adityanath said, “Mischismatic elements can make malicious attempts to unnecessarily provoke people of other communities. Such matters should be monitored. We have to be vigilant all the time, so that no one can breach the security. Those setting up Kanwar camps should be verified, miscreants should be dealt with strictly and monitoring should also be done through drones.” Adityanath said that the local administration should establish communication and coordination with the committees and peace committees associated with the Tazia taken out during Muharram. He said that last year there were accidents at some places and learning from them, all necessary arrangements should be made this year and the height of the Tazia should be as per tradition.
