Red alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand, Alaknanda in a furious form in Badrinath, Taptkund evacuated, holiday in schools

Monsoon rains have created havoc in Uttarakhand. Today is only the fourth day of monsoon and the rain has disrupted life. Landslides are happening everywhere. The water level of the rivers has increased unexpectedly. Waterlogging has started in the plains.

Red alert for heavy rain

According to the Meteorological Center, heavy rain fall is expected in Uttarakhand today. Red alert for heavy rain has been declared in 6 districts. These districts include Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar. Along with this, yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in four districts. The districts in which heavy rain alert has been issued include Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun and Haridwar districts.

Schools will remain closed in 5 districts

In view of the red alert for heavy rain, the district administration has kept schools closed in 5 districts of Uttarakhand. The districts where schools have been closed include Almora, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Champawat. In these districts, schools from class 1 to 12, Anganwadi centers will remain closed today on Tuesday.

Water level of Alaknanda increased in Badrinath

The water level of Alaknanda has increased a lot in Badrinath Dham. The alternative route built for the works of the master plan in Badrinath Dham has also been washed away in the flood. Due to this, the work of river front has stopped. The company’s machines are also stuck in the flood. Now the only option left for the implementing agency is to make an alternative route to start the work, on which work is going on.

Badrinath’s Taptkund was emptied

The condition of the flood in the Alaknanda river is such that the Taptkund in which the devotees take bath has been evacuated of devotees. This step has been taken as a precaution so that the water of Alaknanda does not reach Taptkund. Till late night, it is being continuously announced through mike in Badrinath Dham that no one should go to the river bank.
