Uttarakhand: Cracks have started appearing again in the houses of Baldiyakhan village, panic among the villagers

Due to heavy blasting in the construction of Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line tunnel, cracks appeared on the houses of Baldiyakhan village last year. Which was repaired by the villagers. But with the rains, cracks have started appearing in the houses of the village once again. Due to which there is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers.

Even after the repair, cracks have started appearing again in the houses of Baldiyakhan village. Due to which there is an atmosphere of panic among the people. A year ago also, cracks were seen on the houses of Baldiyakhan village. The villagers living in fear had stopped the construction work by a massive agitation at that time demanding a job for a person of the family in the Railway Development Corporation and displacement.

Cracks started appearing again just three months after the repair

Due to heavy opposition from the villagers, RVNL had given money to the villagers for the repair of the houses under the mediation of the administration. Just two-three months after the villagers got their houses repaired, cracks have started appearing on the houses again. Due to which the villagers are in panic.

Villagers demand displacement

Villagers of Baldiyakhan village say that the foundation of the houses has been shaken badly. These houses will be of no use when the railway service starts. Therefore, one person per family in the village should be given employment and the village should be displaced to a nearby area.
