Uttarakhand: Heavy landslide in Dharchula of Pithoragarh, chaos ensues, Tanakpur-Tawaghat NH closed

Due to a heavy landslide near Rauti bridge, 16 km from Dharchula in Pithoragarh, the rock broke and fell into the Kali river. Due to which there was chaos on the spot.

Let us tell you that there was a hanging bridge at a distance of just a few meters from the place where the rock broke and fell. If the rock had fallen a little further, the hanging bridge could have been damaged. At present, there is no report of any damage due to the landslide. It is being told that due to the landslide, the Tanakpur-Tawaghat NH has been closed. The work of opening it is going on.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in some areas of Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat, Almora, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Whereas an orange alert has been issued for heavy rain with lightning at some places in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri and Haridwar districts.
