Uttarakhand: In view of the disaster, control rooms will be set up in all districts, reports of damaged drinking water schemes will be prepared on a daily basis

Secretary, Drinking Water Mr. Shailesh Bagoli reviewed the preparations made by the drinking water department in view of monsoon in the state at the Secretariat on Thursday. Additional Secretary Drinking Water Mr. Ranveer Singh Chauhan along with officials of Drinking Water Corporation and Jal Sansthan were present on this occasion.

Secretary, Drinking Water directed that a report of damaged drinking water schemes in the state should be prepared and submitted on a daily basis. Along with providing information about the repair of damaged drinking water schemes, he also directed all divisions of Jal Sansthan and Jal Nigam to ensure the arrangement of sufficient necessary material for timely repair. On the basis of the experience of the last 03 years, he also asked to keep arrangement of additional human resources and material in sensitive divisions and to provide necessary chemicals sodium hypochlorite, alum to all divisions for providing pure drinking water.

Secretary, Drinking Water has also directed the officials to establish control rooms in all districts in view of the disaster, continuous cleaning of drinking water sources and GIS mapping of all drinking water sources being used by Jal Sansthan or Jal Nigam.
