Uttarakhand / Nainital: Heavy rain for the last 48 hours, life disrupted
Due to the torrential rains in Nainital district for the last 48 hours, normal life has been badly affected. In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 206 mm has been recorded in Haldwani city. Due to heavy rains, four state highways, four district roads and 30 rural roads have been closed in Nainital district.

The district administration and government machinery are continuously working to open the roads through JCB. Apart from this, there is heavy waterlogging on the roads in the plains.

Many colonies and rural areas of the city have become completely submerged. Rivers and drains are also in spate. 29 thousand cusecs of water has been released from the Gaula river into the Terai region. Due to the water level of the river, soil erosion has occurred in the Lalkuan area.
