The last rites of the five martyrs who lost their lives in the Kathua terror attack were performed with military honours in Uttarakhand

Five sons of Uttarakhand were martyred in the Kathua terror attack. These martyrs include Naib Subedar Anand Singh, Village Kandakhal, Rudraprayag, Havildar Kamal Singh, Village Papri, Pauri Garhwal, Naik Vinod Singh, Village Chaund Jaspur, Tehri Garhwal, Rifleman Anuj Negi, Village Dobaria, Rikhdikhal, Pauri Garhwal, Rifleman Adarsh ​​Negi, Thati Dagar, Tehri Garhwal. All the five martyrs were given a final farewell with military honours today. A huge crowd of people gathered to bid the last farewell to the martyrs. During this, Devbhoomi echoed with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Shaheed Amar Rahe.

The body of Vinod Singh Bhandari, who was martyred in Kathua, reached his ancestral home in Doiwala, Athurawala today. A huge crowd of people gathered here to pay their last respects. After this, the last rites of the martyr were carried out. During this, the entire atmosphere looked gloomy. People bid farewell to the martyr with moist eyes. After this, the body of martyr Vinod Singh was brought to Rishikesh Purnanand Ghat for the last rites. Where he was cremated with military honors. Cabinet Ministers Subodh Uniyal, Premchand Agarwal were also present on this occasion.

Let us tell you that Naik Vinod Singh was a resident of Chaund Jaspur village of Jakhnidhar taluka of Tehri district. His family currently lives in Bhaniyawala, Dehradun. Vinod has two children in his family, a three-month-old daughter and a four-year-old son. Vinod Singh Bhandari was the only brother among three sisters. His father is also retired from the army.

The body of Naib Subedar Anand reached his village this morning for the last rites. People’s eyes became moist as soon as they saw the dead body. After this, the body of martyr Naib Subedar Anand was kept for the last rites for some time. Where people remembered him. After this, the last journey of martyr Anand was taken out till the ancestral ghat of his village. In which hundreds of people participated. Naib Subedar Anand Singh’s last rites were performed at Surya Prayag Ghat. During this, he was given a guard of honour. His elder son cremated him with military honours. Naib Subedar Anand Singh was posted in 22 Garhwal Rifles. Anand Singh joined the army in 2001. Anand Singh has left behind his wife and two sons Manish, Anshul. His family currently lives in Mianwala Shivlok Colony in Dehradun. The martyr’s mother 70-year-old Moli Devi and elder brother Kundan Singh Rawat live in village Kanda. Let us tell you that martyr Anand Singh had come to Dehradun 6 months ago to spend his leave, during this time he also went to the village.

The body of Rifleman Adarsh ​​​​Negi was taken to his village for the last rites. Where a crowd of people gathered to see him. After this, the body of the martyr was taken to Maletha Ghat for the last rites. At Maletha Ghat also, the police, administration as well as the local people paid tribute to the martyr. Local MLA Vinod Kandhari and Congress leader Minister Prasad Naithani also arrived on the occasion. They bid a tearful farewell to the martyr. After this, martyr Adarsh ​​Negi was given a guard of honour. Finally, his father cremated his son. Uttarakhand’s 26-year-old son Adarsh ​​Negi was also martyred in Kathua. Adarsh ​​was a resident of Thati Dagar village of Kirtinagar block of Tehri district. His father Dalbir Singh Negi works as a farmer in the village itself. Adarsh ​​studied till 12th from Government Inter College Piplidhar. In 2019, he joined Garhwal Rifles. Adarsh ​​was the youngest of three siblings. All his three sisters are married. His brother works in Chennai. Martyr Adarsh ​​had come home in February this year for his uncle’s son’s wedding. Havildar Kamal Singh, martyred in the Kathua terror attack, was also given a tearful farewell. Havildar Kamal Singh’s last rites were performed at his ancestral ghat on the banks of the Mandal river. His uncle Kalyan Singh cremated the martyr’s body. Havaldar Kamal Singh of 22 Garhwal Rifles also sacrificed his life for Mother India. Havaldar Kamal Singh was a resident of Kartia village under Lansdowne tehsil. Havaldar Kamal Singh Rawat has two daughters.

Rifleman Anuj Negi’s last rites were also performed on the banks of Mandal river. Martyr Anuj Negi was cremated with military honors at his ancestral ghat Tada Mahadev near the village. Rifleman Anuj Negi’s father Bharat Singh Rawat lit the funeral pyre of his son. Rifleman Anuj Negi was a resident of village Dobaria, Rikhdikhal, Pauri Garhwal. Anuj Negi got married in November last year. His wife is two months pregnant. Anuj Negi was the only earning member in his family. Anuj’s father Bharat Singh works as a daily wage laborer in the forest department.
