Uttarakhand: BJP accuses Congress of spreading rumours in Mangalore firing case, demands investigation

BJP has met the Chief Electoral Officer and lodged a complaint against Congress for conspiring to influence the Mangalore election process. The party delegation alleged that Congress workers from outside have tried to spoil the atmosphere by spreading rumours regarding the incident that took place there.

BJP MLAs accused Congress leaders of spreading rumours

Many BJP leaders including Dharmpur MLA Vinod Chamoli and Rajpur MLA Khajan Das were present in the meeting with RRV Purushottam at the Chief Electoral Office located in the Secretariat. In the letter submitted during this time, they alleged that Congress workers from completely outside the assembly have roamed around the Mangalore assembly and spread rumours regarding the incident that took place during the voting in the Mangalore assembly by-election today.

Accused of influencing the election

BJP MLAs said that Congress leaders have hatched a conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere there by spreading false rumours among a particular section. Their attempt behind all this was to influence the election there. This incident has been carried out by the Congress as a part of a well-planned strategy, which is a complete violation of the Model Code of Conduct. The delegation has requested to take cognizance of the incident and conduct an impartial inquiry and take action.
