Uttarakhand: Badrinath National Highway opened in Joshimath after 58 hours, 200 devotees crossed the road on foot, it was closed due to landslide

Relief news is coming from Joshimath in Uttarakhand. The BRO has made the pedestrian movement smooth on the Badrinath highway which was blocked since July 9 near Chungi Dhar. After this, the pilgrims stranded in Joshimath since July 9 have heaved a sigh of relief. However, due to late night rain, the road is still closed in Langsi, Bhanerpani, Pagalnala and Peepalkoti. Thousands of devotees have been stopped in Joshimath, Peepalkoti and surrounding areas.

On Thursday morning, after more than 58 hours of non-stop road opening efforts by the brave technicians and officers of the BRO, pedestrian movement on the Chungi Dhar Badrinath highway near Joshimath has been made smooth. This morning, more than 200 devotees have reached the other end safely on foot. At the same time, the movement of vehicles is also likely to be smooth by this afternoon. For the safety of the passengers, the passengers are being made to cross this slide zone to the other end in a queue under the supervision of the police administration and SDRF. At the same time, the pilgrims have praised the tireless efforts of BRO to open the road and the cooperation of the administration.

There has been some relief in Joshimath, but the Badrinath Rishikesh National Highway is still closed at many places due to debris caused by landslides. The late night rain has further increased this trouble. In Chamoli district, the Badrinath National Highway is closed in Langsi, Bhanerpani, Pagalnala and Peepalkoti.

It is worth noting that on July 9, there was a landslide twice in a single day near Chungi Dhar in Joshimath. This landslide happened at the same place. Earlier in the morning, a part of the mountain fell on Chungi Dhar. As soon as the BRO opened the road after a lot of hard work and movement started on it, then again in the evening there was an even more terrible landslide. This landslide also damaged the Badrinath National Highway. Since then hundreds of pilgrims were stranded on both sides of the Yatra route.
