Uttarakhand: Preparations to fight dengue started in Dehradun, health department in action, instructions to reserve 10% beds

The health department has become alert to deal with dengue. According to government data last year, 1201 dengue cases were found in the capital Dehradun, which was much more, this time the health department has started sharpening its preparations to deal with diseases like dengue and malaria.

The Health Department of Dehradun has asked all private and government hospitals to reserve 10 percent beds. So that dengue patients can get better treatment on time. Mosquito infestation starts increasing during the monsoon season. There is also a risk of dengue larvae growing in stagnant water. Dehradun Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Jain said that it is a matter of relief that no dengue patient has been reported in Dehradun so far. He said that in view of the danger of dengue in the rainy season, all private and government hospitals have been given guidelines to reserve 10% beds.

He said that the Health Department has prepared a micro plan of 100 wards in Dehradun to prevent dengue and malaria. Under which, from July 1, Asha workers and Municipal Corporation teams are going door to door to make people aware about dengue. So far, a public awareness campaign has been conducted by visiting 83397 houses. The health department teams have searched 2 lakh 30 thousand 559 containers so far. Dengue larvae have been found in 339 of these containers. CMO Dr. Sanjay Jain said that all private hospitals have been directed to inform the CMO office if they find dengue positive.
