Biden’s tongue slipped at NATO summit; first he called Zelensky Putin and then Kamala Harris Trump, said on criticism – it did not cause any harm
The controversy over Biden’s age and his presidential candidacy is increasing in America. Meanwhile, the 81-year-old president has again raised questions about his ability to remain in the presidency by mispronouncing the names of several people at the NATO summit.
During the NATO summit, Biden called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky President Putin. Shortly after, he repeated his mistake and forgot the name of US Vice President Kamala Harris and called her Donald Trump.
Biden’s tongue slipped twice in a day
A summit was held in the US from 9 to 11 July to mark the completion of 75 years of NATO. Members of NATO countries were present in it. On the last day of the summit, that is, late yesterday evening, Biden held a press conference.
Biden was calling Zelensky after finishing his speech. During this, he said, ‘Now I would like to call the President of Ukraine. He is as courageous as he is dedicated. Ladies and gentlemen President Putin.’
As soon as Biden said this and moved forward, he realized his mistake. He immediately turned and said, ‘President Zelensky, not President Putin. I am so focused on defeating Putin that now we should worry about this.’
Repeated the mistake in a short while
After calling Zelensky Putin, the atmosphere of the press conference had just improved when Biden mispronounced another name. A reporter had asked Biden that if the Democratic Party makes Kamala Harris the presidential candidate in his place, then is he capable of defeating Trump?
On this Biden says, ‘If Vice President Trump was not capable of becoming the President, I would never have made her the Vice President.’ Seeing the US President forgetting the name of his Vice President, the journalists present there could not resist, they got irritated and their voice echoed in the entire hall.
Biden clarified
After being cornered for forgetting the names of Kamala Harris and Zelensky, Biden clarified. He said, ‘Did this cause any harm to the NATO conference, have you seen a more successful NATO conference than this. I was talking about Putin. That’s why I spoke his name. I have also apologized to Zelensky for this.’
At the same time, Trump and the Republican Party are attacking Biden after his slip of tongue. Trump wrote on his social media handle Truth Social with Biden’s mistake – Well done Joe Biden.
Obama and Nancy Pelosi are also worried about Biden
CNN has claimed that the concern over Biden’s candidacy for the presidency is increasing in the Democratic Party. Now former President Obama and Nancy Pelosi have also expressed concern about Biden. Whereas, Pelosi and Obama were the only two leaders of the Democratic Party who supported Biden after his defeat to Trump in the presidential debate.
Now both have expressed concern together over Biden’s candidacy. Pelosi has told the party leaders that they will talk on this issue only after the members of NATO countries leave. The internal conflict in the Democratic Party is increasing. Due to this, the party will face difficulties in defeating Trump.
