School building collapsed in Nigeria, 22 students died tragically

22 students died tragically when a school building collapsed in the African country of Nigeria. This accident happened in north-central Nigeria on Friday morning when the children were in class. After the accident, the rescue team had to work hard to rescue more than 100 people trapped in the debris.

When this accident happened, the students had just reached Saints Academy College when the school building collapsed. The age of the students who died is said to be less than 15 years.

The injured were admitted to the hospital

Giving information about the incident, the police said that a total of 154 students were trapped in the debris after the building collapsed, but 132 of them were rescued. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.

Instructions to start treatment without any documents

Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency deployed rescue and health workers as well as security forces at the site of the accident as soon as the accident occurred. The Nigerian government instructed hospitals to start treatment without any documents or payment to ensure quick medical facilities.

The government has blamed the school’s poor structure and its location on the river bank for this tragic accident.
