Uttarakhand: Outrage everywhere over the construction of Kedarnath temple in Delhi, public representatives stage protest

There is anger among the priests, right holders, saints and public representatives regarding the construction of a symbolic temple of Kedarnath temple in Delhi. On Sunday, representatives of various organizations staged a sit-in protest in the Omkareshwar temple complex.

Earlier on Saturday also, the priests had protested in Kedarnath and raised slogans against the government. During this, the chief priest of the temple and other scholars also called it unfortunate. Former MLA and state president of BJP Mahila Morcha also opposed the construction.

The protesters in the temple complex raised slogans and said that whoever is constructing a symbolic temple of Kedarnath in Delhi, it is a direct protest against Sanatan Dharma. He said that for centuries, devotees from the country and abroad have been reaching the Himalayan region to have the darshan of Baba Kedar.

He said that Adiguru Shankaracharya had reached Kedarnath from Kerala and renovated the Pandava period temple built here and fixed the arrangement of worship, which is still being carried out with ancient tradition. Tirthpurohit Vinod Shukla, Umesh Posti, Kishan Bagwadi, Ankur Shukla, Naveen Shukla, Pankaj Shukla say that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reached Delhi and participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the symbolic temple construction of Kedarnath temple, which is completely inappropriate. He should have opposed this construction, but the Chief Minister and the state government also do not want devotees to reach Kedarnath Dham. The Tirthpurohits said that the movement will continue till the construction work of the temple in Delhi is not stopped.

Here, Shiv Shankar Ling, the chief priest of Shri Kedarnath Dham, said that the traditions of Sanatan Dharma should not be violated. Kedarnath temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Ashutosh. In such a situation, symbolic construction of this divine Dham is not possible. Said that Baba Kedar should correct the intelligence of those who are doing such an act. Many pilgrims were also involved in the demonstration and sloganeering in the Dham.

Here, former MLA of Kedarnath Assembly and State President of BJP Mahila Morcha Asha Nautiyal says that the construction of the temple being carried out by Kedarnath Mandir Dham Delhi Trust should be banned immediately. The world famous Kedarnath Dham is a symbol of faith of crores of Hindus. Baba Kedar’s pilgrimage also strengthens the livelihood of thousands of families of Kedarghati and other places of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand every year. Said that symbolic construction of Kedarnath temple is not acceptable under any circumstances. This is directly playing with the faith of crores of Shiva devotees.

Government has nothing to do with Kedarnath symbolic temple: Panwar

BJP District President Mahavir Panwar said that the opposition to the Kedarnath temple being built by Shri Kedarnath Dham Trust in Delhi is not appropriate. Said that the Uttarakhand government has nothing to do with the construction of the temple. In a statement issued, the District President of BJP said that all the people associated with the trust are from Uttarakhand and are promoting social and religious works along with taking forward the culture and tradition of Devbhoomi. The temple being built in Delhi is only symbolic. He said that in the year 2015, the then Chief Minister Harish Rawat and the then BKTCC President Ganesh Godiyal had laid the foundation stone for the construction of Badrinath temple in Mumbai, but the BJP did not oppose it then.
