An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in a forest area of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night. Four soldiers are reported to have been martyred in this encounter. According to the information given by the officials in the media report, the soldiers of the National Rifles and the Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint cordon and search operation in Dhari Gote Urbagi of Desa forest area at around 7:45 pm. After this the encounter started.
Four soldiers injured
According to information received from sources, four soldiers including an officer who were seriously injured in a shootout with heavily armed terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir died on Tuesday morning. According to the information, the encounter took place when the soldiers of the National Rifles and the Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint cordon and search operation in Dhari Gote Urbagi in Desa forest area, about 55 km from Doda, late on Monday evening.
He said that after a brief exchange of fire, the terrorists tried to escape, but the brave soldiers led by an officer chased them despite the challenging terrain and dense trees. This was followed by another exchange of fire in the forest around 9 pm. Officials said five soldiers were seriously injured in the encounter and four of them, including the officer, later succumbed to their injuries.
