Uttarakhand: On the occasion of Harela festival, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi planted amaltas tree and appealed to the people of the state to plant trees

On the occasion of Uttarakhand’s folk festival Harela, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi planted a tree in a program organized by MDDA in Bhagirath Puram, Dehradun. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi planted a sapling of Amaltas (Golden Shower Tree).
On this occasion, while extending her best wishes for Harela festival, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi appealed to the people of the state, especially the youth, to plant trees. During the program, CS Raturi said that this folk festival of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand gives the message of environmental protection and prosperity through greenery to the world and mankind.
The Chief Secretary has requested all the people to plant trees under the program “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” on the occasion of Harela festival and upload the photo and information of the tree plantation on merilife.org. MDDA officials were present on this occasion.
