Uttarakhand: Tanakpur-Champawat highway opened after hours of hard work, passengers breathed a sigh of relief

Due to the torrential rains in Champawat district since last night, the Tanakpur Champawat all-weather road was once again closed on Wednesday due to debris at various places between Banlekh and Tanakpur. The work of opening the NH was going on since morning. At the same time, after several hours of hard work, the NH has been made operational for traffic at five in the evening.

Tanakpur-Champawat highway opened for movement
As soon as the NH opened, the vehicles stranded on the highway were sent off. After which the passengers heaved a sigh of relief. Let us tell you that due to the NH being closed throughout the day, hundreds of passengers and vehicles were stranded in the NH. At present, the NH has been opened for the movement of vehicles. But there is a possibility of the NH being closed as soon as it rains. The administration is appealing to the passengers to travel only after looking at the weather. It is known that this NH connects Tanakpur to Pithoragarh and Dharchula. Due to the closure of NH, the system till Dharchula gets disrupted.

IMD issued alert for these districts
According to the Director of Meteorological Department Vikram Singh, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts on Wednesday. In view of which an orange alert has been issued for both the districts. While a yellow alert for rain has been issued in some parts of Rajshani Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Champawat and Nainital districts.
