Uttar Pradesh: 1 lakh bounty criminal Shahnoor killed in encounter, was wanted in 32 cases of robbery and murder

In an encounter that took place late Wednesday night in Shahjahanpur, UP, the criminal Shahnoor alias Shanu, who had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was killed. The deceased criminal was a resident of Sambhal district and dozens of cases of robbery, murder and dacoity were registered against him. The STF Bareilly unit surrounded the criminal in Bithnapur village of Madanpur police station, after which Shanu was killed in firing from both sides.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said that the incident took place near Pithnapur village of Tilhar police station area, where the notorious criminal with a bounty of Rs 1 lakh was killed in an encounter by the Bareilly unit of STF. 32 cases including murder, robbery and dacoity are registered against the notorious criminal Shahnoor alias Shanu. The criminal Shahnoor alias Shanu was a resident of Sambhal district and a reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared on him at Mainather police station of Sambhal district. The criminal Shahnoor was hit by two bullets. After which the STF and Tilhar police brought him to the medical college for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. At present, the police has kept the body in the mortuary and started further action.

A reward of one lakh was announced

According to STF, action had been taken against Shahnoor under the Gangster Act. His history sheet was also opened. Despite this, he was continuously committing crimes. In May this year, a reward of one lakh was announced on him. Since then, STF was looking for him. On Wednesday, information was received from an informer that Shahnoor was in Madanpur area with his companions. After which he was surrounded, then he started firing. In the retaliatory firing, Shahnoor got injured by a bullet and his companions escaped, Shahnoor was taken to the medical college for treatment, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
