Uttarakhand / Almora: Sanitation worker dies after being crushed by a roadways bus, driver absconded from the spot
In Almora, a roadways bus crushed a cleaning worker at the interstate bus stand on Mall Road. The driver is absconding since the accident. After the incident, local people reached the spot and created a ruckus. Seeing the ruckus increasing, the police team also reached the spot.
Cleaning worker dies after being crushed by a roadways bus
According to the information received, on Thursday, a roadways bus (number UK-07- A-4449) was going from Delhi to Bageshwar. But the bus broke down on Mall Road in Almora. A driver was sent from the depot to take the bus to the workshop of ISBT.
Police reached the spot after the accident
The driver reached ISBT with the bus but first he hit the bus against the gate. After which he also hit five buses parked inside the depot. The collision was so strong that the cleaning worker behind the bus came under the tire of the bus and died on the spot.
Driver absconded from the spot
The driver of the bus has absconded from the spot since the accident. In the accident, sanitation worker Vikas alias Vicky (36) son of late Shivcharan, resident of Valmiki Basti, died. Vicky’s death has caused an uproar among the family members. On getting information about the accident, officials of Valmiki Samaj reached the spot. People created a ruckus there. Which was pacified by the police after reaching there. Police say that the absconding driver is being searched.
