Uttarakhand: Bhandara can be organised only near the parking area, Kanwariyas will go by auto-Vikram

If any institution or person wants to organize a bhandaara during the Kanwar Yatra, then it will not be done anywhere on the Yatra route. The SSP has clarified that permission to organize bhandaara will be given only near the parking places. From the parking places, the Kanwariyas will travel further by e-rickshaw, Vikram and taxi. The police administration will have to send a proposal to the Garhwal Commissioner and the concerned District Magistrate to keep the schools around the Kanwar Mela area closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Regarding the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra, SSP Ajay Singh held a meeting with traders, administration, departmental officials and police officers of Muni ki Reti, Rishikesh, Lakshmanjhula in the Municipal Corporation auditorium on Tuesday. Traders also gave suggestions in this. The SSP said that this time arrangements have been made to park 200 vehicles in Khand village along with IDPL to park the vehicles of postal Kanwars. All the arrangements are being made foolproof at the parking place with the cooperation of Municipal Corporation, Energy and local administration. To avoid any dispute regarding rates during the Kanwar Yatra, all traders have been asked to put up rate lists. During the Kanwar Yatra, voluntary organizations will be able to set up bhandaras only near parking lots.

It was said that due to the elephant corridor between Motichur and Raiwala, efforts will be made to ensure that vehicles are not parked there. The park administration also talked about patrolling there. This year, the number of Kanwariyas is expected to increase by 10 to 15 compared to last year. Last time there was a problem in stopping vehicles at Natraj Chowk.

Roadways buses should not be diverted

Due to this, there is a crowd of Kanwar pilgrims at the Roadways bus stand. It was said that that is why Roadways buses should not be diverted.

Traders gave these suggestions

In the meeting, trader Pratik Kalia said that the Kanwariyas on foot should be sent forward through the market from Shyampur police post. Pramod Jain said that after the widening of the highway, the Kanwariyas should get its benefit. Special passes should be arranged for local traders. During the Kanwar Yatra, the police personnel also divert the vehicles of the traders, due to which the traders face problems. In the past, there have been incidents of robbery with Kanwariyas around Rishikesh railway station, so patrolling should be increased on the railway road. Pankaj Gupta said that chain snatchers keep roaming in the streets in the guise of Kanwariyas, so patrolling should be done in the streets.
