Uttarakhand / Dehradun: After the change in school timings, SSP went to ground zero to take stock of the traffic system and found many flaws
In view of the pressure on the traffic system at the time of opening and closing of 21 schools located in the cluster area of the city, SSP Dehradun had issued orders to reduce the traffic pressure by changing the timings of all the said schools. In this sequence, except St. Joseph and Convent School, the remaining 19 schools changed their timetable and operated the schools.
SSP came to ground zero to take stock of the traffic system
The SSP himself was present at ground zero to assess the change in the timetable of schools from Friday and its impact on the traffic system. During this, the traffic pressure around the schools and on the main roads was assessed at the time of opening and closing of schools.
Guards were not appointed outside the schools to manage the traffic
It was found that some schools have not appointed any guards to manage the traffic on the main roads outside their schools. The guards appointed by some schools are not cooperating in traffic management, along with this, private vehicles are being used more than public transport to bring and take children to school, due to which traffic pressure is increasing on the roads around the schools at the time of opening and closing of schools.
Traffic pressure was high in these areas
Due to the change in school timings, traffic pressure on main roads like Rajpur Road, Nehru Colony was less than normal days at the time of closing, along with this, there was traffic pressure in areas like Balveer Road, Curzon Road due to narrow roads and more private vehicles of parents in schools. SSP said that schools will be informed about appointing the required guards as per requirement.
