Uttarakhand government gave a big relief to the patients, reduced many hospital charges, know how much will be available for beds and ambulances

In the government hospitals of Uttarakhand, patients will now have to pay less fee for OPD and IPD registration than before. Not only this, the bed charge for government ambulance and patients on admission will also have to be paid less. In fact, in the cabinet meeting held on Thursday, the cabinet has agreed to the proposal related to reducing the fees of the Health Department.

Hospital prescription fees reduced

Some time ago, on July 6, this proposal of the Health Department was approved by the Finance Department. After which this proposal was placed before the Cabinet on July 18 for the approval of the Cabinet, after getting approval on which, now soon the public will start getting its benefits. According to the information received from the Health Department, Rs 13 is being charged for the OPD prescription of the Primary Health Center, which has been reduced to Rs 10. Also, Rs 17 is being charged for the IPD registration of the Primary Health Center, which has been reduced to Rs 15. Similarly, the registration fee for OPD in the community health center is Rs 15, which has been reduced to Rs 10 and for IPD, the registration fee is Rs 57, which has been reduced to Rs 25. The OPD fee in district and sub-district hospitals is Rs 28, which has been reduced to Rs 20 and the IPD fee is Rs 134, which has been reduced to Rs 50.

Hospital bed charges have also been reduced

Earlier, the admission charge for admission in the general ward of PHC was Rs 17 per day, which has been reduced to Rs 10. Earlier, the admission charge for admission in the general ward of CHC was Rs 17 per day, which has been reduced to Rs 15. Along with this, the charge for admission in the private ward (single bed) present in government hospitals was Rs 230 per day, which has been reduced to Rs 150. The charge for admission in the private ward (double bed) was Rs 428 per day, which has been reduced to Rs 300. Along with this, a charge of Rs 1,429 per day had to be paid for admission in AC room in government hospitals, which has been reduced to Rs 1,000. However, there is no charge for bed for the first three days on admission in general ward. From the fourth day onwards, charge is taken as per the prescribed rate.

Ambulance fare also reduced

Along with this, the minimum fare for bringing and taking the patient in the ambulance of the health department up to a distance of 05 km is Rs 315 and Rs 63 per kilometer for more than this distance, which has been reduced to Rs 200 minimum for up to 05 km and Rs 20 per kilometer for more than this distance. Not only this, the health department has also decided that if a patient dies in government hospitals, then he will be taken to his home free of cost through ambulance.

CGSH rates valid for tests

Along with this, the charge is being taken as per the GO issued in the year 2010 regarding laboratory charges. Also, under the GO, the charges were being increased by 10% every year. In such a situation, it has now been decided that CGSH (Central Government Health Scheme) rates will be adopted for all the laboratories present in the state. These rates will be applicable only on PHC to district level hospitals.

Referral fee removed

Apart from this, whenever a patient is referred from a small hospital to a big hospital, registration fee is charged every time. Now registration fee will not be charged during referral to a higher center. That is, on referral from a primary health center to a community health center, registration fee will not be charged from referral patients in the community health center. Similarly, on referral from a sub-district hospital to a district hospital, registration fee will not be charged by the district hospital.
