Uttarakhand: Mussoorie-Dehradun road closed for big vehicles, road narrowed due to landslide near Galogi Power House

Dehradun-Mussoorie road was closed for about an hour due to heavy landslide near Galogi Power House. Along with this, due to continuous landslides in the upper and lower parts, the road has become very narrow. Due to which there are huge problems in the movement of big vehicles. In view of this, the movement of big vehicles on Mussoorie-Dehradun road has been banned. It is also believed that if there is further erosion on the road, then the bus service in Mussoorie will also stop.

Public Works Department Executive Engineer Jitendra Tripathi said that due to heavy rain on Friday, there was a landslide below and above the road near Galogi Power House on Mussoorie-Dehradun road. Due to which the road was blocked. The road there has become very narrow. It has become difficult for big vehicles to move on it. In such a situation, if big vehicles drive on the remaining road, then it can be dangerous for the remaining damaged part of the road. Due to which the movement of small vehicles can also be disrupted.

In such a situation, movement of big vehicles on Mussoorie-Dehradun route has been banned. He said that Mussoorie-LKD-Kimadi route can be used for big vehicles. At the same time, Mussoorie can be used via Campti from Vikasnagar. He has also inspected the LKD-Kimadi route along with the department officials.

Apart from this, information boards have also been installed at many places regarding safety. He said that due to continuous rain, there are problems in the construction of the main road on Mussoorie-Dehradun Galogi Power House, but the department is trying to make the route smooth for big and small vehicles within a week.
